We believe that access to education and self-empowerment opportunities are central to the realization of a transformed industry, addressing industry skills shortages – particularly amongst black female youth and disabled individuals – and aligning to President Ramaphosa’s youth employment initiatives.
We believe that access to education and self-empowerment opportunities are central to the realization of a transformed industry, addressing industry skills shortages – particularly amongst black female youth and disabled individuals – and aligning to President Ramaphosa’s youth employment initiatives.
Recognising that much of the challenge lay in access to suitable education and training opportunities, KPR established Keystone Female Youth Development Funding NPC (KFYDF) in 2016.
Subsequently rebranded to Keystone Youth Academy (KYA), the Not for Profit Company seeks to empower Black youth, principally female and disabled, to access skills and experience to enable their entrance into the engineering sector.
KPR’s established ties with companies in the mining, petrochemical and construction engineering sectors provides a unique degree of access and ensures that the KYA Programmes can be accurately aligned to our client’s specific business needs and strategies.
The KYA Programme consists of a Learnership, engaging with qualified and experienced coaches, the provision of a range of complementary industry-related soft skills courses, and life skills training. This enables unprecedented flexibility and the capacity to tailor the KYA Programme to align with our client’s specific needs and strategies, while ensuring that learners receive the full benefit of a uniquely comprehensive array of training and coaching methodologies.
In addition to sourcing, training and preparing talent, from in-demand designated groups, KPR seeks to identify and deliver the maximum benefit to companies contributing to B-BBEE Skills Development via the KYA Programme.
Youth from all racial groups are provided the opportunity to access learning and skills programmes developed specifically to address industry requirements, and given additional knowledge, expertise and skills to boost their employment prospects.
